Independent scaffolding: Tubular support system with two parallel sets of standards providing vertical support independent of the building, allowing employees to work at heights. The support system is made up of individual poles and clips that are joined together to fit the structure into which they are attached. Vertical poles in the scaffolding give all vertical support, while bracing and ties into the building provide horizontal support. The ties are typically installed in window openings or around columns.
