Retaining wall is a structure designed to hold back soil, rocks, or other materials and prevent them from sliding or eroding away from a sloped or elevated area. Retaining walls are typically constructed in landscapes where there is a significant difference in elevation between two adjacent areas, such as a hillside or sloped yard, and are used to create level terraces, prevent erosion, and provide support for buildings, roads, or other infrastructure.
