Pressure-treated lumber refers to a process of treating wood with chemical preservatives under high pressure, in order to increase its resistance to decay, rot, insects, and other forms of deterioration. The process involves placing the timber in a sealed chamber, injecting a solution of preservatives into the wood under high pressure, and then allowing the solution to soak into the wood fibers for a period of time.
