Imbricated refers to a pattern in which overlapping layers of material, such as roof shingles or siding, are arranged in a way that resembles fish scales or feathers. The layers are arranged in a staggered pattern, with each layer overlapping the layer below it to create a tight seal that helps to prevent water infiltration. This technique is often used in roofing and siding applications to create a visually appealing, yet functional, surface that is resistant to weather and other environmental factors.
