Calibre: A measure of the diameter of a round object, such as a pipe, cable, or wire. Typically measured in millimetres or inches, and is the distance between two opposite sides of a round object. It is a measure of the diameter of the object, and is often used to compare different sizes of the same object. Calibre is also used to measure the diameter of a firearm barrel, and is sometimes used to measure the size of a gemstone.
